Is there a possibility to get pregnant if I touched the penis of my partner on top of his shorts and took a shower a few hours later?

Hi!
Thanks for reaching out to AlterHeros. I’d just like to clarify first : I’m not a doctor and I can’t give a professional medical opinion. That being said, I studied sexology and have a pretty good understanding of what is required to get pregnant.
The risk of pregnancy when sperm does not land near the vagina is already very low. Sperm don’t stay active forever in the open air and even the shower’s water jet probably wouldn’t be enough to propel them far enough. You’re not sure if you felt sperm or precum, but you don’t think so which is another reason pregnancy risks are small in the situation you described. So basically I wouldn’t say that a pregnancy would be completely impossible here, but it is very unlikely.
If you want to be sure, taking a urine pregnancy test is your best option, you can purchase them in pharmacies, or by going to a health center, clinic or hospital. If you take the test in a doctor’s office and it is positive, the doctor will be able to talk to you about your options, such as the morning-after pill or abortion, depending on your situation and your needs.
Otherwise, for the next time, even if you are not planning to have penetrative sex, it might be a good idea to learn about the different methods of contraception that exist, even if the pill and the condom are the most popular, there are many other options. For example, you could read this article or take this online quiz. Then you can make an informed decision to buy the contraceptive that works best for you.
I hope that my answer will reassure you! You can write to us if you have any other questions or concerns!
