Moesly

MAN.
yes, maybe one day
I’ll be who I am
BOY.
Trapped inside,
still has to hide
GIRL.
The mask painted on
decorations meant to
FOOL.
those I love, so I feel guilty.
wanna tell ’em the
TRUTH
But I’m too afraid paralyzed
by how long I’ve
LIED
deceit surrounds me like a choking vine
Ask whats wrong? nothing. I’m
FINE.
I live in fear, life’s like a shadow
watching from behind a veil
AFRAID
of misunderstanding judgment
You see her you know her,
Daughter, you raised, you
LOVE
A fake girl clouds your eyes
hides him just behind
Protects him.
From the battles all around
strangles him.
HIDDEN
never lost, thus never found
do you love your son?
or is he a
STRANGER
let her know, she can let go
he’s her true self the
VOICE
Almost nothing will change,
outside maybe, but inside is the
SAME
Still the child you love
the one you gave a name
Silently asking, to be called
SON
Waiting for his
FREEDOM
