Objectives

The final objective of the project is to create a fun and educational kit by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ neurodiverse people. The kit can be shared directly with youth, but also with various organizations interested in learning about the subject and in distributing the kit to young neurodiverse people from the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and/or those who are questioning and/or interested in questions relating to gender identity and sexuality education.

The ten LOVE MOÉ THE RIGHT WAY workshops, taking place between March and August 2021, have allowed the AlterHeros team to identify the specific knowledge, experiences and needs of the group’s participants on several issues experienced by 2SLGBTQIA+ neurodiverse people. This knowledge will then be used to design the fun and educational kit. The principle of “by and for” is central to the realization of this project : the kit will therefore be thought out, written and created with the material that will be collected during the discussions that will emerge from these workshops. In addition to the monthly meetings with the speakers assigned to the project, the group of participants will also meet with several specialists in different fields.

1

The first guideline of the workshops is to equip the youth on different important aspects related to the multiple relationships and violence they experience and/or could experience in their different relationships : love, intimate, professional, friendship, family, between colleagues, with themselves, etc.

After each workshop, participants will leave with relevant resources that they can apply in their personal lives (informative resources, material resources, human resources, etc.).

2

In order to encourage discussion and exchange without pressure, LOVE MOÉ THE RIGHT WAY workshops are based on a creative approach.

It is easier to have a less oppressive dialogue if we initiate the discussion first through art; allowing not only for a playful period, but also removing the pressure on individual realities by working in creative simulation and/or pictorial representations. As such, participants are also led to develop their sense of creativity.

3

Throughout the workshops, a fictitious story corresponding to the learnings received will be created by the participants at the end of each regular workshop (without specialist).

Based on an innovative concept created by the Neuro/Diversities program facilitator, the participants will be invited to create a collective story based on the learning and discussions that have made the greatest impression on them. This co-constructed and personalized story will be kept and transposed into the explanatory guide of the final kit.
