This girl always looks at me, I think she might be bi
This girl always looks at me but we never say anything to each other. I think she might be bi, but I’m not sure. I want to ask her, but I don’t want to give her the wrong idea. What should I do?
Ciara,
It’s difficult to ask people point blank about their sexual orientation. What I would suggest, is that you wear or put on your school bag a small bi flag, or even one of those pins or t-shirts that have funny sayings on them like “I’m fabulous and I know it” or “I’m not a lesbian, but my girlfriend is”. Another way is just to say “hi” and introduce yourself to someone who is staring at you. Also, starting a casual conversation with someone is a great way to better understand his or her intentions.
Body language is also important. Are you standing straight? Are you sending a confident message? Or are you hiding and turning away? A smile is a strong, silent tool that you can also use. If the smile is not returned, you know that the person is not open to communication, and that they are just looking at you out of curiosity or to compare themselves to you.
Hope this helps Ciara, and we wish you best of luck in making a new friend!
