On January 21 and 22, there was a seminar by La table nationale de lutte contre l’homophobie et la transphobie des reseaux de l’education in Quebec city.

This was its third seminar intitled “Act Against Homophobia and Intimidation : Solidarity within diversity”.

Many different conferences were giving about various subjects. Two public conferences were available to everyone given by 1) Francoise Susset and 2) Bill Ryan. Three private conferences were given, among others, by 3) Bill Ryan, 4) Julie Montpetit and Anne Marie Da Silva and lastly, 5) Julie Pelletier.

During the conferences, two separate tools were given. The first of which is the GenderBread person. To know about this, here is the link. For those who are unfamiliar with the concepts of sex, gender identity, gender expression and attraction, I strongly recommend you click the link to learn more! 🙂

The second is a map of the world, created by, entitled “The Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual : Map of World Laws”. It is a very detailed map showing which countries give protection to those in the LGBT community as well as those who recognize these members. This map also shows the countries in which persecution is given to those who are LGBT. For more detailed information, visit their website.
